  • Champion unions and amplify worker power; promote Community Workforce Agreements in City contracts to guarantee fair compensation and workplace safety protections

  • Develop a biannual review of incentives and public safety allowances for Film Burbank to ensure the prioritization of the community’s best interest

  • Commission a study for a Public Bank (the Bank of Burbank)

 

Public Safety

  • Fully fund the Mental Health Evaluation Team

  • Review and divest from any corporations supporting or profiting from the infringement of our constitutional rights; make it illegal in the City to sign contracts with such companies

  • Remove privacy-flouting Flock cameras and cancel the Flock contract

  • Audit BPD’s use of military gear  

  • Fund graffiti removal

  • Advocate for public campaign finance to help prevent special and corporate interests from buying our elections

  • Lower voting age to 16 for local elections

  • Promote telework and reduce Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) with smart, targeted housing development

Transportation

 

  • Develop an expanded, protected cycling network

  • Finalize Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line Dedicated Lane

  • Create a second Orange Line going clockwise to expand non-car commuter options

 

Immigrant Community

 

  • Stand strong against ICE in our neighborhoods; instruct local PD to investigate federal immigration agents for misconduct, document findings, and refer cases for criminal prosecution under state law

  • Promote the Chicago model of school campus ICE defense–utilizing rapid-response protocols and community-led safe transit trans–in Burbank schools

  • Coordinate with the faith community and other community leaders to get food and supplies to families impacted by ICE

  • Honor our abducted neighbors with public memorials

 

Seniors

 

  • Extend BurbankBus Operating Hours to 6pm

  • Champion quality, affordable senior housing options

 

Utilities

 

  • Commission a study for Chattanooga-style Municipal Internet Service

  • Fend off capricious data centers physically encroaching on our neighborhoods and driving up our energy bills
